About Peaceful Valley Campsite
Arnold and Walburga Banker opened Peaceful Valley Campsite in Downsville in 1968, and the Banker family still hosts families, friends and festivals there. Options run from basic tent camping to seasonal sites and comfy rental cabins, and RV sites have electric and water hookups. The grounds include an Olympic-sized swimming pool, camping on islands, clean restrooms with hot showers, picnic tables, fire rings, hiking and mountain biking trails, and the river for fishing, kayaking and tubing. Dogs are welcome. Reservations are made by printed form with a one-night deposit, and cabins by phone. Rated 3.6 from 141 Google reviews, 74 of them five stars and 38 one star. Annual events and a list of what to bring are posted for first-time campers, along with local fairs such as the Delaware County Fair.
